- Use the Print Range option to select only the pages that you want to print.
- When printing a form, use the Fit to page print option, which will shrink (and if necessary rotate) oversized pages, to fit on the paper size currently loaded in your printer.
- If you have any problems printing from Adobe Acrobat Reader, please make sure that you have the most recent printer driver installed for your printer.
Filling Out Forms
Forms in the Adobe Acrobat version of the NHA MBS Guide may be completed in two ways.
You may simply print out the blank forms and then fill them in by hand, or you may fill them in electronically and then print them.
Note: If you fill the forms in electronically, and then print them, you will still need to add your signature where indicated.
To fill out a form electronically in Adobe Acrobat Reader:
- Select the hand tool.
- Position the cursor inside the first form field. The I-beam cursor allows you to type text. The arrow cursor allows you to select the field, checkbox, radio button, or a choice from a list.
- After entering text or selecting an item, checkbox, or radio button, choose from the following:
- Press Tab to accept the field change and go to the next field.
- Press Shift-Tab to return to the previous field.
- In a multi-line text field, press Return to go to the next line.
- To print a form, see the "Printing PDF Documents" section above.
Please make sure you use commas when typing figures in the thousands. Also, when typing telephone numbers, make sure you press tab after the area code and after the first three digits of the telephone number.
If you would like to save forms once you have filled them out electronically, you will need to purchase and install the full Adobe Acrobat package which includes Adobe Acrobat Exchange. Further information is available at the Adobe web site.
With the full version of Adobe Acrobat, you will be able to save, to your hard drive, the changes you make to the forms. You will also be able to create your own PDF files for other projects.
For more information on how to use the Adobe Acrobat Reader, please view the Reader Guide located under the Adobe Acrobat Reader's Help menu.
