Navigating Ottawa: local transporation
While there isn't any specific transportation arranged for the conference, there are numerous convenient options to navigate the city. Participants can explore on foot, use public transit or opt for taxis or rideshare services like Uber at their personal expense. This allows for flexibility and convenience in planning your travel itinerary around the conference.
Parking options
There are 2 main parking options. Participants will need to cover the costs of both options.
On-site parking: Conveniently located within the conference venue.
Off-site Parking: The CF Rideau Parking Garage is 0.4 kilometres away from the venue, offering an alternative option.
Valet service is available daily at a rate of $55.
Additionally, there is a dedicated on-site electric vehicle charging station.

Room rates

Traditional guestroom (single/double): $259 CAD
The room rate includes:
- complimentary Wi-Fi for up to 6 devices
- complimentary airline boarding pass printing in Tangent Business Centre
13% Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) and 4% Municipal Accommodation Tax (MAT) will be added to the $259 CAD base rate.
If you would like to book a room outside of our official room block dates (March 17-19), please begin by securing your accommodation within the standard room block dates (March 17-19).
Following your booking, you'll receive a confirmation email – please reach out to the hotel directly with your confirmation number to inquire about additional nights' availability.
Booking policy
Please note that you’ll need a credit card to make your hotel room reservation, unless you have a prior arrangement with CMHC.
To secure your reservation, the hotel reserves the right to charge the cost of one night's stay, along with any applicable taxes and fees, to your credit card. We appreciate your understanding.
Limitations: The hotel is unable to guarantee bed types, but you can add a bed type request to additional requests under "Room Requests and Accessibility" when you make your reservation.
Onsite facilities
The Westin Ottawa has a wellness lounge with a dedicated prayer section.
The conference venue also prioritizes inclusivity with several gender-neutral washrooms available throughout the building, as will as gender-specific washrooms.

Hotel room cancellation policy
Individual reservations can be cancelled up to 72 hours prior to the arrival date. Cancellations received after 72 hours prior to the arrival date will result in a charge equivalent to a one-night stay.

Be aware of fraudulent hotel reservations
CMHC and Intertask Conferences are the only authorized organizations to handle guest room reservations at the Westin Ottawa. Please disregard any emails or phone calls from suppliers asking you to book your accommodation for the National Housing Conference. Please do not interact with them.

By air
The Ottawa International Airport is a 30-minute drive from downtown Ottawa.
Taxis, car services and car rentals are located right outside the airport. Full accessible public transit to downtown Ottawa is also available with OC Transpo bus route 97.

By train
Canada’s passenger train service, VIA Rail, offers numerous daily departures to Ottawa from all major cities in southern Ontario and southern Québec.
Travel time by taxi from the Via Station to downtown Ottawa is approximately 15 to 30 minutes.
Conference participants qualify for a discount on their train tickets. When booking your train ticket, use the Conference’s VIA convention discount code: 14496.
