A number of financial institutions and our Indigenous and the North Housing Solutions team have combined forces to create a series of online financial literacy workshops that provide valuable insights and information on a variety of topics about personal finance.
This series of online workshops is intended for people who wish to learn more about home ownership, or who simply want to learn about personal finances in general. They are tailored for Canadians living in the Northwest Territories, Yukon, and Nunavut.
The series will cover a number of areas related to financial literacy including: understanding mortgages, pre-approvals, credit reports, and home buying programs. They have been specifically created for Canadians who identify as Indigenous, and are:
- Potential future home owners
- Working for territorial housing corporations or ministries
- Entrepreneurs
- Youth/Young adults
- Anyone looking to better understand credit and build better credit
- Interested in building market housing in their communities
The workshops will provide a broad overview of each topic listed below and they are expected to be 20-30 minutes long. If you cannot attend the live webinar, a recording of each session will be posted on this page shortly after they are released. Simply sign up below to be informed when they become available.
