Barriers and Enablers to the Uptake of Visitable Housing in Canada: Stakeholder Perceptions provides perspectives from interviews with builders, advocates and policy makers on how to bring visitable housing into the mainstream housing industry. Key barriers include no single definition, lack of awareness, societal bias regarding infirmity, lack of leadership and contradictory or confusing policies. Enablers include normalizing inclusion in society and creating strategies for research, marketing, education and advocacy.
