Darlene Hyde was appointed to the board of directors of CMHC in June 2024.
Ms. Hyde is a business leader with over 30 years of experience as an executive and board member across Canada. She is a former CEO of the British Columbia Real Estate Association and former Executive Director of the Metro Vancouver Commercial Real Estate Development Association. She recently served as Interim CEO of the Alberta Insurance Council and currently serves as Chair of the Stabilization Central Credit Union of British Columbia. She was recognized as the 2020 CEO of the Year (Non-Profit Sector) by Business in Vancouver.
Ms. Hyde has experience in both private and public sectors, including provincial Crown corporations and regulatory agencies. She has also served on a number of boards in the financial services, regulatory and not-for-profit sectors.
She holds an undergraduate degree from McGill University and an MBA from Memorial University. Additionally, she has professional designations from Simon Fraser University and the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management.
